Fiesole was an important Etruscan centre modified in the
Roman period under the government of Silla in 80 BC. In
1792, vestiges of the Roman Theater were found and by
1800 came to light Etruscan inscriptions and columns,
surpluses of the temples and baths. The museum, of neoclassic
style, was constructed in 1914 with the form of a temple,
and its decoration imitates the Etruscan and Roman styles.
Its collection have many discovers of archaeological excavations
and basically, consists of pottery and burial statues,
Etruscan coins, amphoras and some Roman busts.
