Museum
of Modern Art
Located in the second floor of the Pitti Palace, in the
space used before by the children of the Medici family
and her baby sitters, the museum exhibits a great collection
of works of Pietro Benvenuti, Giuseppe Bezzuoli or Francesco
Hayez. Also it has historical paintings of Sabatelli,
Pollastrini and Stefano Ussi, or sculptures of Antonio
Canova, Pietro Tenerani and the famous Cain and Abel de
Giovanni Duprè. The jewel of the collection are
the works of the Macchiaioli, the tuscan artists of century
XIX.
