Cà
D'Oro
Sometimes considered like one of the most sumptuous buildings
of Venice, Cà D'oro passed through an unfortunate
period of several restorations done during five centuries
of history, until the moment that baron Giorgio Franchetti
bought it in the end of the nineteenth century to made
an art gallery.
Within it is possible to admire masterpieces of Mantegna,
Diana and Carpaccio. In addition it has many paintings
of the flamish school and what remains of the original
decorations by which it was famous, between the palaces
near the Grand Canal, the main aquatic via of Venice.
In the back patio it is possible to admire a well, a masterpiece
made by Bartolomeo Da Bon in 1427 with Verona red marble.
